Selvedge has teamed up with Made To Measure Rugs to offer you the chance to win a tailor made rug of your own design.
The Made to Measure mission is simple: to produce beautiful, top quality personalised wool rugs at affordable prices. At the forefront of contemporary design, the Made to Measure rug collection has been assembled by an in-house design team. Elegant and functional, each design has a style and understated strength.
Made To Measure Rugs offers the consumer a range of new ideas, you can select a rug from the styles on the website and have it made to your exact measurements. Alternatively you could select from the 22 colours in stock for a plain rug or combine some of these colours yourself, and design your own.
Selvedge would like to test the creativity of its readers and invite you to design your own rug to the value of £300. The winner will see their design realised by Made To Measure. We are looking for serious and beautiful entries and will publish the winning design and 4 runners up in a future issue of Selvedge.
Competition Rules:
1.) Competition is open to Selvedge UK subscribers only
2.) Designs must be based on the following rug sizes:
- For rectangle rugs: Up to 120 cms width and up to 170 cms length.
- For square rugs: Up to 140 cms.
- For circular rugs: Up to 150 cms diameter.
3.) Designs may use not more than 8 of the following colours:
4.) Designers need to be aware that lines under 2.5 cms or one inch would be hard to achieve.
5.) A winner will be chosen jointly by Selvedge and Made To Measure Rugs. The winner will be contacted by phone. Made to Measure will assist with the next stages. The judges decision is final

7.) The top five designs will be published in a subsequent issue of Selvedge (unless otherwise requested by the entrant)
8.) Please send postal entries to SELVEDGE / MADE TO MEASURE competition, PO Box 40038 , N6 5UW. Entries in a digital (PDF) format should be sent on disk to the same address accompanied by a full colour print out.
9.) Competition is open to entrants from UK only. For logistical reasons Made to Measure would not be able to export your rug if you are outside the UK .
10.) Closing date of competition: 1 August 2006. Entries received after this date will not be included in the judging.
11.) Rugs take up to 8 weeks to complete.
12.) Prize as stated, no cash alternative.
