Creative Natural Dye Class with Botanical Inks
Hosted by Babs Behan, 15 June, 6.30 - 9pm, £65 per person includes materials and light refreshments
In this session you are invited to experiment with a range of surface application processes, including bundle dyeing, shibori, painting and hapazome. Students will be able to choose from different natural dye materials to work with, including fresh and dried flowers, berries and leaves and powder pigments.
You will be given an introduction to the different techniques, and have an open session for getting creative. We will then break for some light refreshments and have the chance to discuss any projects you might like to try for the end of the class.
A length of organic British silk will be provided but more will be available to purchase at an additional cost of £28/metre.
Tea and coffee will be provided. Please wear clothes which you can get messy.
The class will have a maximum of 14 participants.
Workshops take place at The Bristol Textile Quarter, 1A Barton Road, Bristol, BS2 0LF
This postcode will take you to the wrong end of Barton Road, please go to other end. The building is a three-storey redbrick building with red roller opposite the Barley Mow.
Parking outside the studio is free after 5pm and at the weekends.
The studio does not have central heating and can get a little chilly so please make sure to bring warm shoes and sweaters.
