Stitch Needlecases with Hen's Teeth Art, 3 June 2017

Saturday 3 June 2017, 11-5pm, £120 per person including lunch and materials.

Hosted by Viv Sliwka of Hen's Teeth Art

Using, time-worn, vintage and newer textiles, we will play with layering, surface texture, hand embroidery and stitch, to create a very personal, hand stitched needle case.

Materials will be provided by Viv from her own collection.

In more detail, emphasis will be placed on the layering of fabrics, laces and haberdashery for an interesting textural base. We will then explore hand embroidered stitches and appliqué for even more texture and colour.

To make the piece more personal, bring along your own imagery, textiles, fabrics, haberdashery etc.

Students will need to bring basic equipment for the day, for example.

Glue stick, needles, scissors, embroidery threads and any vintage textiles or haberdashery they wish to include.

Hosted in the Selvedge Shop, 162 Archway Road, London, N6 5BB

Tube: Archway and Highgate
Buses: 134, 43, 263
Free Parking after 12 o'clock on Langdon Park Road next to the shop.
