Lampshade Weaving with Jane Withers

20 May, 11-5, £135 including light refreshments and materials

Hosted by Jane Withers

Jane graduated in knitwear design from Nottingham Trent University and established Janie Knitted Textiles, with her partner Michael in 2005. Using UK sourced natural fibres such as merino wool, linen and cotton, Jane hand knits  before weaving each component of the Strand lampshade.

The work in Janie Knitted Textiles is a direct response to environmental colours, textures and the materials they use together with developing concepts and ideas challenging the conventional use of wool.  The current collections include homewares in the form of cushions, throws and lighting and fashion items including scarves, handbags, purses and tablet covers.
