Nordic Tam with Marie Wallin
Saturday 7 October, 11-5, £130 includes a light lunch
Marie was taught to hand knit and sew at an early age by her mother. A love of textiles was born, and she went on to study textile and knitwear design at De Montfort University. She then went onto set up a knitwear design label before working as a designer for a knitwear manufacturer in Leicestershire. Many of Marie’s designs have been featured in British high street retailers such as Next, BHS, Burton and Debenhams. In May 2013, Marie started her own design company. She now produces books, kits and hold popular creative workshops.
Marie Wallin will show you how to create a traditional Nordic inspired tam. This is a great design to improve your knitting skills, and to learn Fair Isle knitting techniques. All yarn, pattern and charts are provided but you need to bring 3.25mm straight or 20cm fixed circular needles.
All the materials are provided; this class is suitable for beginners.
