Rag Rugs with Deborah Schneebeli Morrell

Saturday, 11-5, £134, includes a light lunch

Deborah Schneebeli Morrell trained in Fine Art and was awarded a Crafts Council Grant in 1987, her work involves transforming redundant or discarded materials into items that are both useful and beautiful.

The traditional craft of hooking rugs is the ultimate in recycling. The simple technique lends itself to modern interpretation. It is a process of transformation, to make beautiful and functional objects from previously un-regarded elements.

The rugs are created using old scraps of fabrics. Students should bring old blankets, sweaters, T shirts in chosen colours and a sharp pair of tailoring scissors.
