artist, Deidre Scherer is to be presented with
the 2008 Humanities Award by the American Academy of Hospice and
Palliative Medicine for her evocative, painterly tableaux on the

survival of the Ramses Wissa Wassef Art Centre
in Egypt is under serious threat from rising water. Established
by architect, Ramses Wissa Wassef half a century ago to encourage
children to engage in tapestry weaving, it now produces artworks
