Illustrator Macrina Busato has lived in Montreal, London and San Sebastian but, for now, has settled in Madrid. Her work is produced by hand and she draws on her background in textiles. "I rarely start at the computer. I learned the traditional way of pattern design with a extraordinary textile designer in Lyon, that worked exclusively for years for the designer Yves Saint Laurent."

FAIR PLAY
This issue we've looked at sport through a 'Selvedge lens' and discovered some beautiful textiles. With illustrated features on sail making, straw hats, riding habits and the work of Stella McCartney the issue looks at how textiles play an intrinsic part in sport - its rituals, rules of dress and even its results. UK subscribers should receive their issue in the next 14 days.
