Anglo-Nigerian artist Yinka Shonibare’s Nelson's Ship in a Bottle will be the next artwork installed on the Fourth Plinth. The ship, which the artist describes as “a celebration of London’s immense ethnic wealth”, has 37 sails made of Dutch wax fabric symbolic of African identity and independence. The work will be unveiled in Trafalgar Square, London on 24 May 2010
