Viewed as a service, advertising is carefully selected to complement the Selvedge philosophy. Woven into the body of the magazine and highlighted in comprehensive directories, Selvedge advertising is a tool for the value-based consumers that make up our readership.

Our readers will rely heavily on Selvedge for guidance and information when making purchases for themselves and their home, when deciding which exhibitions to view and where to take their holiday. We aim to ensure individuals read and consider Selvedge advertisements an integral part of the publication.

With this in mind Selvedge operates within certain guidelines when inviting advertisements.

Please supply the finished artwork on CD clearly labelled with the advertiser's name on both case and CD.

General:
All files are to be supplied in Mac Format. Please supply files required in clearly marked folders such as: Quark; EPS; Images and Fonts. A hard copy must be supplied for checking purposes, same size as where possible and in colour. All fonts required, including those used within EPS files, must be supplied. All artwork must have a full background either colour or white.

Quark:
Set up your document size at the page size to be reading not the spread size ie. 205 x 275 mm not 238 x 238 mm spread). 3mm bleed on pages where required. Create your document in reading pairs and not printer pairs.

Photoshop:
All greyscale and CMYK images should have a resolution of 300 dpi and BITMAP images 900dpi for optimum production quality. If creating duotones use Photoshop 5.02 or above. Please do not use monotones, instead use a greyscale TIFF and apply the colour in Quark. Please do not supply the files in RGB, Index colour or DCS format. Avoid enlarging images over 140 per cent. Supply all images placed within the file in case alterations are requires.
