oB wear is the project of a one woman garment maker Milly Melbourne, who seeks to create considered garments that adapt and move with our changing bodies and styles, rather than constricting against them.Garment making for shape, body and expression, while using finely worked natural materials to explore tactile dialogues of enclosing the body with cloth, playing in the realm between being naked and clothed.
oB is offering the gift of two carefully crafted, made to measure pieces, tailored to fit the body of the winning wearer: a soft and weighty organic cotton Ritual Dress and a pair of organic hemp and cotton Enclose Trousers.
The Ritual Dress has been a firm favourite of those who appreciate its adaptable and versatile design. This piece in made in weighty yet soft organic cotton twill in a dusty navy shade, that has been chosen to give the design a sturdy workwear feel which, like a good pair of jeans, it softens and ages beautifully over time. The piece allows the wearer to play and adapt to what feels right that day, it’s over or under lapping bodice and skirt wraps and ties in different ways, changing the structure and character of the piece - you can even wear this dress backwards!
The Enclose Trousers are oB’s take on the classic trouser, designed to suit all different body shapes (and genders) with a tying system that allows you to embrace the body when it changes in size. This pair has been made from a beautiful organic hemp and cotton cloth that’s been woven by independent cloth producers Bysshe Partnership who source the warp and weft yarns from British and European growers. This two tone twill reveals the natural hues of the cotton on one side and textural hemp fibres on the other. Exposed through contrasting details on the Enclose Trousers knee patches, tying straps and turn ups rolled at the ankles.
Enter to win, competition closes 15th August 2021.
