Virtual Workshop, hosted by Mahua Lahiri of Hushnohana
Mahua Lahiri learnt her textile skills from her Mother, Preeti Kona Goswami, who made a significant contribution to reviving the technique of Nakhshi Kantha, winning the National Award in hand embroidery.
After her formal education at NIFT Kolkata, where she studied fashion and textiles, Mahua decided to build on her mother's work by focusing on learning and reviving the craft of Nakshi Kantha. She has since tarted the company, Hushnohana, to develop this work, participating in national and international markets with wide acclaim. Mahua also teaches a range of classes at NIFT Kolkata in Indian cultural embroidery.
