The Asian Art Museum of San Francisco has her work in the museum collection. In 2020, one of her works, ‘Remnants of Memory’ was included in ‘De Young Open’ a juried community art exhibition by the De Young Museum in San Francisco.

In 2017, she founded the Korean Textile Tour to introduce Korean traditional textile art and culture. She leads this tour annually and travels with textile enthusiasts to learn textile traditions in Korea.

Meet the Maker event description

Using Korean traditional techniques such as Gamchimjil and Settam Sangchim, Youngmin will teach basic Jogakbo construction. Bojagi construction involves relaxing and mindful hand stitching. During the talk, Youngmin will talk about her practice and show geometric patterns or free-form Bojagi. Youngmin will also discuss different designs and colour choices.

The session will introduce you to her practice and proposed activity for the upcoming workshop,Bojagi with Youngmin Lee, which will be held on Wednesday 15 & Wednesday 29 November2023. There will be time for questions at the end of her talk.

If you would like to join the workshop Bojagi with Youngmin Lee, please book to attend at least 4 weeks ahead of time to ensure you receive the materials pack that is essential for participation in the workshop. The talk is included in the cost of the workshop.
