28 October 2017, Garden Birds with Mandy Pattullo, London, UK
Saturday 28 October, 11-5, £120 including a light lunch and materials
Taught by Mandy Pattullo
In this course you will create a British garden bird portrait, templates of common birds will be provided so you do not need to be able to draw but I will help you draw out your own design if there is a particular bird you want to realise through this easy fabric collage technique. I will have a small palette of fabrics ready for you to build up your picture and show you how to build up, attach and embellish with stitch.
Please bring your own sewing kit ( needles, pins, scissors) and also a selection of stranded embroidery threads in the colours of the bird you might think about doing.
This is a rare chance to be taught by Mandy in London as she is based in rural Northumberland. Mandy is a well know textile artist whose work is based on using hand stitching and recycling old and worn quilts and other fabrics. She recently published a book called "Textile Collage" (Batsford Sept 2016).
