Aranya Naturals, Scarf, Eijaz
Aranya Naturals is a community development project started in 1994 located in Munna, a mist-clad hill station in Kerala, India. Aranya focus's on gathering raw materials from its surrounding area and uses only fibres that take natural dyes such as silk, cotton, hemp and jute in their products. The products are made by a talented work force of disabled young people.
This scarf is woven from pashmina - the fibres from the under belly of the cashmere goat and gently milled to create a soft handle. The scarf is dyed with natural Indigo using a clamped shibori process to give a clean edged resist. 100% pashmina. 95 cm x 205 cm.
