Bangladesh, Bengal Muslin / Saiful Islam, Muslin Scarf (300 count) Green & white
Product name: Muslin Scarf (300 count)
Type of product: Cotton and silk mixed textile, milled yarn, hand woven with modern motifs
Description (story of the item): Muslin was pure cotton; famous for its translucence, gossamer like threads and unique motifs. It was described as ‘woven air by the Romans and ‘skin of the moon’ by Arabs. Since 2014 Bengal Muslin has been leading the revival of this textile treasure, growing and blending the original cotton (‘phuti karpas’), using the ancient processes and designs to recreate the fabled fabric. It is available in a range of cotton counts (200,300,400) and motifs. These scarves are a mix of cotton and silk and have been manufactured as a response to contemporary fashion, inspired by the light, gauzy look of real muslin. They are available in three colours in a subtle, modern, airy composition.
