Beatrice Larkin
Beatrice Larkin is a textile designer based in Margate, Kent, known for her woven textiles, accessories, and interior products. Her fabrics are distinguished by softened geometric patterns in a pared-down colour palette, all woven in the UK. Beatrice’s hand-drawn sketches are integral to her designs, and the Jacquard loom captures her inky lines, broken geometries, and blurred edges.
Inspired by a balance of strict geometry and the human touch, Beatrice draws from diverse influences, including traditional weave structures, West African textiles, and The Bauhaus. Her designs evolve from initial sketches into intricate weaves, emphasizing both the structure and aesthetic of the fabric.
Her production is based in the North of England, where skilled manufacturers weave small runs of fabric at a Jacquard mill in Lancashire, before finishing in the Yorkshire Dales. She works with merino wool for soft throws and accessories and recycled cotton for robust cushions and upholstery.
Beatrice’s passion for textiles began early, influenced by her parents’ involvement in interior design and embroidery. After completing her MA at the Royal College of Art, she launched her first collection in 2017 at Clerkenwell Design Week. Today, her work is sold by brands like Heal’s, Daylesford Organic, and The Tate Modern, with custom commissions for galleries and hotels.
