Bhutan, Kelzang Wangmo, Silk Kishuthara Panel
This intricately woven teal silk on silk panel is exquisite as it showcases all the traditional 'Thrima' patterns. This special panel is woven on a traditional back strap loom and takes approximately 3 months to complete. This piece is woven by our weaver in Khoma village in Eastern Bhutan.
MEASUREMENTS 232 cm / 60 cm
MATERIALS Sheep wool thread, cotton fabric. High grade silk & cotton imported from India.The yarns are dyed using locally available materials such as onion skin, madder, walnut skin and rhododendron flowers.
Only dry cleaning. It can be also used as a wall hanging or fashioned into other clothing and accessories.
Takes up to 3 months to make a piece like this.
