Description (story of the item):
This piece is hand-woven with the "Intarsia" technique in the front which consists in changing the color of the thread, it also has traditional stitches we call “homemade” in spanish. In Chile the names of these different stitches have names such as rice, chickpea, sugar bread, etc.
In addition, recycled buttons from old factories that had to close were used.
It is woven with baby alpaca and merino wool from the town of La Estrella in the VI region. This is part of the dry Coast of Chile, a place where the main economic activities are related to agriculture which is closely linked to the craft production. Within the process, artisan women of the area raise the alpacas, shear them, then dye them mostly with natural dyes to then move on to the spinning process, to finally start weaving.
Materials: 30% merino wool from La Estrella, VI región, Chile and 70% Aymara Baby Alpaca.
Measurements / size: 56 cm high / 48 cm wide / 47 cm long arms (under armhole).
