Description (story of the item):
Orange floats on the surface of this little bag are dyed with madder root. The fabric is hand woven with damask loom. The model of the bag goes back to Scandinavian Viking age. The Sàmi people had the same model for their handicraft bags still in the beginning of 20th century. They had reindeer bones for handles and the bag itself was made of natural tanned leather or fur. I have born in Lapland and my grandfather had reindeers as my uncles too. I planned and dreamed about these bags c. 20 years before the dream came true.
Handwoven with damask loom, warp black cotton yarn, weft Finnish black horse hair. Horse hair in stripes are dyed with madder root. Lining is black silk. Bone handles are dyed with onion scales.
