Dayak Iban total population is around 1 million people, around 30 % are living in Indonesia’s part of Borneo ( Kalimantan ). Rumah Rakuji develop this original products that they found in Kenasau Village Kalimantan Barat ( West Borneo ). Kenasau Village is located at the shore of Sentarum Lake, within a protected forest of Betung-Kerihun. Kenasau can be accessed from Putussibau, by car on 4 hours journey then continued by another 3 to 4 hours travel by speed-boat . Craft Making is one of the promoted work in hinterland of Borneo in line with the spirit of safeguarding Rainforest and deflect other activities which threaten its existence
Materials: BEMBAN ( Donax Carniformis) are water reeds growing in clumps in the swamps or at the banks of the Kapuas river. Long time ago, Bemban was not growing wild in nature, but it was rather cultivated/planted.
