Kishuthara Runner by Kelzang Wangmo (Bhutan)
Handwoven vegetable dyed table runner. Handwoven silk on cotton runner with vegetable dyed yarn, designed based on traditional Bhutanese motifs seen on old textiles. This piece is designed and woven by Kelzang. The silk yarns are dyed at home by Kelzang using onion skin, madder, walnut skin and rhododendron flowers. Supplementary weft motifs are incorporated based on traditional motifs seen on vintage textiles.

MATERIALS Sheep wool thread, cotton fabric. High grade silk & cotton imported from India.The yarns are dyed using locally available materials such as onion skin, madder, walnut skin and rhododendron flowers.
