Brasilia Tote Bag from Margo Selby

Created especially for Selvedge, the zero-waste Brasilia tote bag features a woven cloth which took inspiration from the architectural forms of Oscar Niemeyer and tile designs of Athos Bulcão. 

The Brasilia design uses Margo’s expertise in pattern design to help form an identity in cloth and encompasses geometric, tessellating patterns made from interlocking shapes in a strong, graphic palette.

Margo Selby is a renowned British textile artist and designer. her handwoven artworks are exhibited in galleries worldwide. in accordance with her ethos of ‘art into industry’, Margo concurrently oversees the design work of the studio to create functional and decorative textiles and accessories.

The signature Margo Selby use of colour and geometric form and pattern is unmistakable throughout the studio’s output – authentic original design developed on handlooms, with an artisan sensibility, and high quality finish.
