Product name: Table Runner LOXA-quetzal
Type of product: Table Runner
Description (story of the item): Woven on a prehispanic waist loom by the Mayan weavers of the community of ZINACANTAN (the Highlands of Chiapas)
It is a plain fabric with brocade in the center. This brocade is specific to this community. Made with supplementary wefts that
are introduced at the time of weaving, the peculiarity of the Zinacantán brocade is that it is invisible on the back of the textile.
The density and depth of the color is given by a game in the warp of 2 threads with very close but different tones giving it a
particular vibration.
This garment is exceptional for its length (3m). This makes it a complex piece with the backstrap loom, due to the weight that the textile acquires and the difficulty in maneuvering this piece.
Materials: 100% mercerized cotton
