Students then work through the first part of the foundational stitch family — ribbon stitch, straight stitch, Japanese ribbon stitch, and loop stitch — on an artwork designed by Nadia, conceived as a progressive technique collector. Attention throughout to tension control, needle choice, and fabric grain. Beginners build confidence; intermediate students refine their hand and explore stitch variations. In the second session, participants are introduced to more complex vocabulary: folded and gathered roses, the spider web rose, ruching, French and colonial knots in ribbon, and dimensional leaf work. Students conclude by completing a personal stitch sampler — a lasting reference tool for future projects.

What's Provided in Your Workshop Pack:

Ribbons

Needles

Nadia's printed artwork/sampler on a cotton base

Additional Materials to Bring:

Embroidery hoop: 25cm

Sharp embroidery scissors

Water-soluble pen or chalk marker

Needle threader (optional but recommended for beginners)

Thread to match ribbons for anchoring

Workshop Level: This course offers a thorough grounding in ribbon embroidery techniques, accessible to beginners while providing depth for more experienced embroiderers.

Please Note: Material packs are shipped on an insured, trackable delivery service.
