Online event, hosted on Zoom by Kate Kilmurray
Kate Kilmurray’s affinity for making is steeped in values of the handmade and an appreciation for form. Early lessons in textiles were drawn from both her mother and grandmother, later informed by her degree in Art History at the University of Pennsylvania. Kate has run multiple arts and wellness businesses, each in proximity to her yoga practice and teaching of over three decades. In recent years, Kate has attuned her creative sensibilities to the craft of hand-weaving: both as a creative act and practice of embodied meditation, inspired by nature. From the scattering of her weavings around the world, to the circles of women brought together through her teaching, Kate’s work is embedded with community: a source of solace and a space of belonging.
