Self-taught designer Heather Moore started her textiles and homeware brand Skinny laMinx in 2008.  Her patterns were first screen-printed on tea towels, and now can be found on all kinds of homeware, from tiles to tablecloths, all recognisable by their distinctive colour palette, and optimistic vibes. 

Heather has her production studio and showroom in central Cape Town, South Africa, from whence she sends her joyful, sophisticated textiles across the globe.

Outline of workshop
In her creative work as owner and designer at Skinny laMinx, Heather Moore makes patterns all the time. Some patterns - like her needlepoint tapestries - take a very long time to complete.  Others, she makes very quickly, using her hand-carved erasers to stamp multiple patterns using a single motif. 
This year, however, Heather has been combining the slow creation with the quick:
All year, she's been spending evenings and weekends slowly working on her needlepoint tapestry design called Scandi Candy. Then, in her studio, she’s been hand-carving the needlepoint motifs from erasers, exploring their pattern possibilities through stamping. 

In this Selvedge online course, Heather will use the Scandi Candy design to talk about her design process and disciplines. 
She will teach you how to carve your own stamp from erasers, using the Scandi Candy motifs. She will teach you the principles of pattern generation, and show you how to use a single motif to generate multiple patterns. 

Please note: material packs are shipped on an insured, trackable delivery service. Any customs duties, delays, lost or undeliverable packs are the responsibility of the customer. Once a material pack leaves the workshop tutors' hands with a tracking number, the seller has no further obligation to the buyer.

Workshop recording
The workshop will be recorded and the recording made available to you after the workshop.

All places reserved on workshops are non refundable. However, if you let us know you are not able to make a workshop you have booked at least two weeks prior to the event, we will offer a credit note.
