Description (story of the item):
A traditional Ukrainian tone - in tone hand embroidered women's blouse, made with natural linen fabric ; decorated with natural color cotton moulinee and silk. Embroidery techniques used for this blouse: combination of ''lyshtva", ''vykolyuvannya''(kind of ''birds eyes''), ''zernovyi vyvyd'', '''retyaz''(kind of cross stitch),merezshka''(lacework ). Embroidered neckline 'traditionally decorated with hand done tassels, at the front is a small opening, which gives more options while wearing the blouse. Raglan sleeves have little gathering in the top part and bottom parts are also decorated with hand done tassels, so that sleeve’s weirdness can be changed. This old ornament comes from the ancient times and is typical for different regions in Ukraine, and is usually made on white or natural color linen fabric. On the bottom part of the sleeve one can see a geometrically stylized ‘’Tree of life’’, ’ which is one of the most loved and popular motifs in Ukrainian embroidery.Tone-in-tone (white-on-white) embroidery techniques are used in such regions of Ukraine as Pokuttya, Podilla, Poltava region. It takes about two weeks to make this item , with ready embroidered patterns the blouse can be sewn in any size due to custom order.
