Online workshop, hosted on Zoom by Youngmin Lee
Since moving to San Francisco in 1996, Youngmin has been reviving the ancient crafts of Jogakbo, a form of patchwork, Bojagi, a form of patchwork made with leftover remnants of fabric and Saeksilnubi, a type of Korean quilting. Youngmin’s work has been exhibited and collected throughout the United States and abroad such as in the collection of the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco. In 2020, one of her works, ‘Remnants of Memory’ was included in ‘De Young Open’ a juried community art exhibition by the De Young Museum in San Francisco.
In 2017, she founded the Korean Textile Tour to introduce Korean traditional textile art and culture. She leads this tour annually and travels with textile enthusiasts to learn about textile traditions in Korea.
Outline of the workshop

During the workshop, Youngmin will show you how to use many small pieces of fabric to create a geometric pattern or free-form Bojagi. Youngmin will also discuss different designs and colour choices.
