Bella Gonshorvitz is a multidisciplinary fashion practitioner, author, natural dyer and allotment plot grower. Her debut book ‘Grow, Cook, Dye, Wear – From seed to style the sustainable way’ was published this year by DK/Penguin Random House. The book captures her miniature circular economy process through the prism of five crops: grow-your-own and foraging advice; vegan recipes for the harvest; instructions to creating natural dye from the cooking waste and full-size patterns with sewing instructions to creating your own Onion dress, Nettle duster, Rhubarb bolero, Blackberry shirtdress and Cabbage shorts. She is currently working on her next book ‘The Living Wardrobe’.
Meet the Maker event description
This is a part of a series of Meet the Maker sessions that will give you a short introduction to textile makers and designers who run workshops with us. The event will consist of a meet the maker session and demonstration with Bella Gonshorovitz. The session will introduce you to her practice and proposed activity for the upcoming workshop, The Garden’s Cloth, which will be held on Saturday 13 & Saturday 27 May 2023. There will be time for questions at the end of her talk.
If you would like to join The Garden’s Cloth workshop, please book to attend at least 4 weeks ahead of time to ensure you receive the materials pack that is essential for participation in the workshop. The talk is included in the cost of the workshop.
The event will be recorded and a recording sent to ticket holders after the event. Please allow 7 workings days for us to send you the recording.
