London Design Festival: Together in Battersea by POoR Collective
Last year’s recipient of the Emerging Design Medal, POoR Collective, has created a new community-inspired installation now on display in Turbine Hall A at the iconic Battersea Power Station for this year's London Design Festival.
The installation, titled Together In Battersea, draws inspiration from local Wandsworth residents under 18. These young creatives participated in workshops at the Power Station in August 2024, exploring the theme ‘What does Battersea mean to you?’

This new piece builds on POoR Collective’s recent collaboration with Battersea Power Station, "Together We Rise," which continues to grace the landmark. "Together We Rise" features over 100 vibrant flags suspended from the ceilings of the Grade II* listed turbine halls, depicting the journey from sunrise to sunset with bold colours and dynamic designs.
POoR Collective is a London-based studio founded in 2019 by architects Shawn Adams, Larry Botchway, and Ben Spry, along with accountant Matt Harvey-Agyemang. The studio is dedicated to empowering young people and providing them with opportunities in the design industry, aiming to cultivate the next generation of industry leaders.
