NATIVA: Regeneratively Farmed Cotton
The first harvest of NATIVA™'s regeneratively farmed cotton began on World Cotton Day, 7 October 2024. As the world’s leading supplier of regeneratively farmed luxury fibres, NATIVA™ announced the addition of cotton to its portfolio earlier this year.
Planted in spring in Messolonghi, Greece, by a collective of NATIVA™ farmers, including a mother-and-son duo, this inaugural cotton crop has ripened under the Mediterranean sun. Partnering with Nafpaktos Textile Industry SA, every stage— from cultivation to fibre processing and yarn production—takes place in Greece, ensuring a fully traceable farm-to-fibre cycle within the EU, adhering to its labor and environmental standards.

NATIVA™’s Regenerative Agriculture Program aims to restore soil health, improve crop yields, and uplift farming communities. These efforts contribute to enhanced water quality and increased carbon capture. Over a five-year period, NATIVA™ targets a 20% increase in organic matter in the soil, coupled with a 25% reduction in pesticide use, with the ultimate goal of eliminating pesticides and ending tillage entirely.
