Sayali Goyal: works on paper and textiles
After a successful show at Casa Muniz Gallery Oakland California in September 2023, Sayali Goyal, a Delhi based intuitive abstractionist opens a solo show at Kamla Devi Gallery, India International Centre, Lodhi Estate, New Delhi on the 23rd of January 2024. The show will be on during India Art Fair until the 4 February. Goyal has selected 47 large and small mixed media works that she has created over the last 11 years on both paper and textiles.
Through the abstract visual language seen in her works, Sayali has used complex use of symbology inspired by deep philosophical meanings. The idea of a circle being a whole, nurturing feminine and the triangle being the active masculine is being repeated in most textile works. Some of the natural dyed framed textiles are inspired by the visions from her meditative state, and the freestokes of inks represent the flow of energy. Colour and textures continue to be her key tools for expressions.
