Waxman’s insatiable curiosity and forward-thinking eye have been a source of inspiration for Edelkoort and the Trend Union team for decades. This year’s winner, Kira Zander, captivated the jury with her collection Ilaria, a heartfelt exploration of knitwear as a medium for innovative textile design, dedicated to her disabled sister, Ilaria. Each piece in the collection draws inspiration from the stones the sisters collected together, with Kira meticulously examining their unique textures, colours, and forms. Through her designs, she not only mirrors the physical beauty of these stones but also celebrates the love and care behind their collection, honouring their distinctiveness.
