Thompson Street Studio was founded in 2014 by Kiva Motnyk with the mission of creating handmade objects that blend art and design, resulting in work that embodies authenticity and longevity.

Each piece crafted by the studio carries a unique story, rooted in traditional textile techniques such as weaving, quilting, and appliqué. With a focus on recycled materials, seasonal natural dyes, and antique fabrics, the studio creates a dialogue between the historic and the contemporary.

Through gallery exhibitions, pop-up shops, and events worldwide, Thompson Street Studio invites the community to engage with the creative process through public workshops and immersive exhibition experiences. Today, a talented team of artists and artisans collaborates to produce each collection, working together to preserve and celebrate textile heritage.

In the coming year, they will introduce new pieces, thoughtfully reworking materials lovingly collected in their archive over the years. Cherished sewn swatches and antique fabrics from the studio shelves will be incorporated into one-of-a-kind pillows and a limited run of exclusive quilts. For the first time, they will also open their textile archive, offering a curated selection of antique quilts gathered from their travels.
