12 days of Christmas 2025: Win a Cotton Robe from Olivia Morris

12 days of Christmas 2025: Win a Cotton Robe from Olivia Morris

December 1, 2025

“I look to the past for inspiration, conjuring an era of sumptuous living, elegant lounging, and the joy of dressing up.” For designer Olivia Morris, nostalgia is not a retreat from the present but a way of enriching it. After three decades immersed in fashion, print, and interiors, she brings her vision together in Olivia Morris At Home — a collection that champions style without sacrificing comfort, rooted in craft, and shaped by a distinctly English sensibility.

From the outset, Olivia’s intention was clear: to create transparently and sustainably, and to support small businesses as close to home as possible. Her collections span footwear, loungewear, and homeware, all produced in small batches, with many pieces available to pre-order, ensuring nothing is over-ordered or wasted.

The palette is unmistakably hers: a glorious sweep of botanicals inspired by the flowers in her East Sussex garden, with many pieces named after a favourite bloom, connecting the wearer to the pleasures of nature. Vintage textiles also play a central role. Olivia’s limited-edition designs often draw from her personal archive of pristine prints gathered over years of travel and collecting — a celebration of materials too lovely to stay hidden.

Craftsmanship anchors the brand. Footwear is produced in Alicante, Spain, by a third-generation family-run factory; accessories are made in small UK workshops; and every piece of loungewear is Made at Home in England by a talented seamstress. Olivia knows exactly where each product is made, who makes it, and what it is made from.

Today on Selvedge Stories, we hear more from Olivia in our Five Minutes with a Friend interview series — a chance to step inside her world of florals, comfort, and craft-led design. Read on to find out more, but first, a little information about this prize:

Five Minutes with a Friend: Olivia Morris

Olivia, what is your first memory of a textile?

A pair of 1930’s Indian curtains I found in Portobello Market in the late 90’s. They’re  hand-embroidered with a colourful botanical motif and hundreds of hand-applied shisha mirrors. I still have them carefully stored, and hope to hang them in my daughter’s bedroom imminently.

Can you put into words what you love about textiles?

When it come to sourcing immaculate vintage textiles for my Olivia Morris collection, it’s definitely the thrill of the chase!

Where did you learn your craft?

I originally studied footwear at Cordwainers College in the mid 1990’s, and after many years as a ‘high-heel’ shoe designer, I launched my first velvet House Shoe in 2020.

Where is your most inspiring space or place to create?

My collection is interiors-inspired, so I love working at home. My office is the tiniest room in the house but I have hung a joyful Svenskt Tenn Klöverblad wallpaper, made a simple cafe curtain from Cluny Lace, and use clean perspex shelves to display my design boards & keep me inspired.

What has inspired you recently?

Cecil Beaton’s Garden Party at The Garden Museum in London was divine.

What is your most cherished textile, and why?

My Grandmothers 1970’s House Robe, handmade in England by ‘Saxon Lingerie’. It’s full-length cotton broderie lacework, with frilled cuffs and pink satin ribbon ties. Whilst I occasionally waft around in it, I mostly have it hanging on my door to inspire me!

Which colours, textures or materials say “Christmas” to you?

I’m truly happy when I can unpack my huge vintage silk eiderdown and throw it over the bed. It’s a deep Ochre yellow which instantly heralds winter and the deeper tones I love to wear during the festive season.

What textile traditions or handmade items make the festive season special for you?

Every early December I spend an evening with Craft In The Field in Sussex, making a huge foraged Festive wreath. We work by candlelight and sip delicious mulled wine…it really marks the start of Christmas for me.

Do you have a favourite Christmas decoration or textile you bring out every year?

I’ve been gifting my children a Christmas decoration each year from somewhere I’ve travelled for work. Last year it was set of glittery, glass cowboy boots from Dallas – the perfect bit of kitsch to hang on the tree!

If you could spend Christmas anywhere in the world to discover festive textile traditions, where would it be?

Anywhere with a wonderful small hotel & winter flea market would suit me just fine!
