The Selvedge 12 Days of Christmas 2020 competitions are open! From 1 – 12 December you can enter to win each and every one of our 12 prizes by visiting our competition page. Every day while entries are open we will look at each prize in more detail. Today it’s the KOLI blanket from Finnish company Lapuan Kankurit - we have three to give away. Lapuan Kankurit are lead by the fourth generation of family entrepreneurs: "When Esko’s grandfather acquired the first industrial weaving looms in the 1930s, Finland was still a relatively poor country. Household textiles were cherished valuables and they were durable and made to stand the test of time. In those days beautiful textiles could be passed on to the next generation. To create long -lasting products is still the starting point for our production."
“We are against low-cost manufacturing that exploits nature and yields short-lived product use. We are known for making our decisions using our heart and by placing people first. Everything we do is transparent. We only use ecological, certified natural materials such as linen and wool. And, we know where the materials come from. We are guided by the thought that we are weaving a good life for people around the world. We have our very own weaving mill in Lapua, western Finland. That is where we manufacture our products from yarn to a finished product. This enables us to design our products and processes while keeping the ecological footprint as small as possible.”
We have three KOLI blankets to give away. The KOLI blankets are made of delightfully soft 100% merino wool. Their classic design and luxurious material make these products appreciated and treasured. Although extremely lightweight, these merino wool blankets will keep you warm, even throughout cold winters. KOLI products are all woven in Lapua, Finland.
