The Selvedge 12 Days of Christmas 2020 competitions are open! From 1 – 12 December you can enter to win each and every one of our 12 prizes by visiting our competition page. Every day while entries are open we will look at each prize in more detail. Today it’s the Crochet Kit from Loop, with the pattern and yarn to make a shawl designed by Mette Mehlsen. Loop is a treasure trove of a shop that specializes in very beautiful textiles and materials sourced from around the world. Opened in London in 2005 with the inspiration of Susan Cropper, Loop carefully curates the most exquisite yarns and haberdashery that can be found.

Loop is a virtual cornucopia of hand-dyed yarns, ribbons, buttons, basic wools, and a vast collection of books, magazines, and printed knitting and crochet patterns. They also source naturally dyed embroidery threads from Japan, Denmark, and France and work with uber-talented people from around the world such as Nathalie Lee, Sophie Digard, Julie Arkell, and Mina Perhonen. Loop has the most beautiful and useful yarns, threads, and tools for knitting, crochet, punch needle, embroidery, and visible mending.
We have a very special crochet kit to give away. It was designed especially for Loop by Mette Mehlsen using a collection of her naturally dyed organic wool threads. The kit includes a printed pattern for a shawl and all of the yarn that you will need to make it, wrapped up in a special Loop 15th anniversary cotton bag.
