Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty, V&A Museum, London.
At Selvedge we are careful about what language we use and wherever possible try not to make value judgements, I find them patronising and think our readers can decide for themselves the value an object has. We make a point of never using the word unique as it can so rarely be justified. However, with the long awaited opening of Savage Beauty - Alexander McQueen we have good reason to celebrate this unique talent. See Selvedge issue 63.
If like many you find his work challenging then all well and good, and if like me, your life experience is not wide enough to grasp the full extent of his insatiable creativity, then no matter. The beauty and elegance of the craftsmanship on display is enough to make this a truly memorable show that will live with you for years to come.
If you see only one show this year it should be this one.

Saw this at the Met in NYC….amazing on so many many levels.
I am hoping that the exhibition will eventually make it’s way Down Under.
Hey Tracey! I agree and if it goes to Oz it can come on to New Zealand. Glad to see you’re still loving that fabric! XX
Just waiting for it to arrive in Australia.
