When Ann Dunham,
President Obama’s mother, lived in Indonesia with her son, she began gathering batik fabrics that were indigenous to the culture. Her collection of batiks has been on a national tour this summer and will culminate in a two-week display at
The Textile Museum, Washington, DC. A Lady Found a Culture in Its Cloth: Barack Obama’s Mother and Indonesian Batiks will run from August 9 through 23.

I’ve visited The Textile Museum in Washington – it is a small but wonderful place in which to exhibit.
If anyone is going to see Obama’s Mother’s Batiks please report back her – thanks – Jill
I have not received my Sept/Oct issue yet, I know they were late for delivery but I thought it would have been delivered by now.
Thanks
