Annie Sloan is delighted to have teamed up with Selvedge to offer her covetable Charleston Keepsake Boxes as a gift to new subscribers to the magazine. Whilst Selvedge focuses on the rich history of textiles, Annie herself is the eponymous inventor of Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan, a one-stop solution for damaged, tired, unlovely furniture. The Charleston Keepsake Box is the perfect introduction to the potential for customising and transforming your home that the range offers, and will appeal to those with an appreciation for the cultural heritage of design and style, and the grand history of the decorative arts.

Inspired by the Bloomsbury set’s rural retreat, Charleston Farmhouse, and developed in collaboration with the Charleston Trust, this partnership was a dream come true for Annie, who as an art student wrote a fan letter to Duncan Grant, one of the Farmhouse’s most famous permanent residents. Her profound admiration for this modernist, experimental, flamboyant, intellectual, and downright beautiful treasure trove of the decorative arts is evident in each of the three colours she developed: Firle, a fresh zesty and crisp green inspired by the distempered wall in Clive Bell’s study; Rodmell, the dusty, damson purple of the fireplace in the Studio at Charleston Farmhouse, where guests of Virginia Woolf and Roger Fry would discuss the arts and philosophy after a day of creative pursuits; and Tilton, a deep, bright mustard inspired by the buttery golden sunshine shapes on Vanessa Bell’s bedroom wardrobe.

The Keepsake box also includes two neutral Chalk Paint® colours: 120ml tins of Original and Graphite. You’ll also receive one 120ml project pot of Clear Chalk Paint® Wax, a wax cloth, the Large Round and Large Flat Detail Brushes, and an inspiration guide. This is plenty of material to paint the box in a design of your own, as per Annie’s suggested pattern (included), and to complete another small project, too.  The box measures at 178 x 239 x 94 mm.

Read more about the collection on the Annie Sloan website.

If you’d like to learn more about Chalk Paint® and its many uses, or simply meet the community who love it, find Annie Sloan on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook @anniesloanhome.
