Beyond The Festival of Quilts

Organisers of The Festival of Quilts’ are inviting the quilting community to come together on Thursday 30th July - Sunday 2nd August 2020 for Beyond The Festival of Quilts, an online celebration of quilting. The Festival of Quilts has been postponed until 29 July – 1 August 2021 but quilters will be able to enjoy many of the annual event’s highlights online with a range of masterclasses, lectures, workshops, galleries and shopping.
Beyond The Festival of Quilts kicks off with a live awards ceremony at midday on Thursday 30th July when Stuart Hillard will be announcing the winners of the Virtual Quilt Competition. The competition attracted over 650 entries this year, all of which will be available to view on The Festival of Quilts website after the ceremony.

Tickets are on sale now for Zoom masterclasses by leading quilt experts Clare Benn, Christine Chester, Sara Cook, Wendy Dolan, Julia Gahagan, Wendy Gardiner and Jennie Rayment. There are also free-to-view workshops, lectures and talks by textile tutors, artists and curators including Tammie Bowser, India Flint and Carolyn Dulcey from the International Quilt Museum, plus workshops, a projects library and shopping hub

Visitors to Beyond The Festival of Quilts will be able to view dynamic galleries by acclaimed textile artists including Eszter Bornemisza, Leah Higgins, Michael James and Ruth Singer who will be discussing their work. Content will be available after the event, with regular updates and new masterclasses coming online in the months to come.
