BUNDLE DYEING WITH FLOWERS AND PLANTS

Join Selvedge and Botanical Inks to explore natural methods of dyeing through foraging and creating your own colour and pattern on cloth.

Using the 'bundle dyeing' bind and steam technique, Babs Behan will guide you through the process of creating your design. With a length of organic British silk, you'll choose dried and fresh flowers and plants to create pattern, colour and texture. The colours will be fixed using the workshop's renewable energy powered stoves completing this sustainable, environmentally friendly process.

During the workshop, Babs will discuss intuitive herbalism, flower symbolism and offer guidance on gathering wild plants, harvesting organic produce and re-using food waste for your future projects. She will also be on hand to offer information about the sustainable methods and materials used by Botanical Inks.
