Calling All Knitters And Stitchers
The Knitting & Stitching Show 2018 opens tomorrow! Taking place in the iconic Alexandra Palace, the Knitting & Stitching Show is the biggest textile event in the UK and features some of the top textile artists exhibiting their work.
Over the past month, we have featured some of our favourite exhibitors on the blog, including TOFT, Caren Garfen, and Jenni Dutton, whose latest creations will be on display at the Show. In addition to these exhibitions, there will be many opportunities for inspired visitors to also get a little creative, as workshops will be taking place over the weekend.
As in other years, there will be a Dressmaking Studio, the Creative Living Theatre and the Textile Galleries. However, some new features are also making an appearance at the Show. Visitors will be able to see "Artists in Action", which has been a feature of the Knitting & Stitching Show Harrogate but will take place for the first time this year in London. The concept is to show practicing artists at work, as though in their own studio, so visitors can catch a glimpse of the artists’ journey from initial idea through to resolved body of work.
The Knitter's Cafe is also a new feature this year, and is sponsored by Rowan. The cafe is a drop-in information area in The Great Hall, where knitters can find out how a career teaching knitting can be a reality with a Knitting For All franchise.
The Knitting & Stitching Show takes place from 11 - 14 October at Alexandra Palace, London, UK.
