Christmas Craft at the American Museum
The Christmas Craft Fair at the American Museum in Britain is a delightful way to do some shopping as well as gain creative inspiration for the festive season. Set in the Museum’s Coach House and Stables it offers a beautiful and peaceful shopping experience away from the hustle and bustle of crowded city centre.
All the items for sale are the work of the exhibitors – with no mass-produced products – so there’s plenty of opportunity to meet the makers, discuss their techniques, and find interesting Christmas gifts.
While visiting the fair make sure to visit the museum's quilt collection. It is acclaimed as the finest of its type in Europe and the equal of many premier collections in the United States. Ranging from the 18th to early 20th centuries, these exuberant works of art and craft are visually bold, technically assured and often proudly patriotic.
The stalls offer a wonderful range of arts and crafts including ceramics, textiles, jewellery, and prints. Additionally, there is free parking and access to the Museum café and shops.
