SUMMER BLOOMS

A new collection by THOMPSON STREET STUDIO is inspired by the anticipation of early blooms and the saturated hues of high summer. Designed with the natural and spontaneous ways nature interacts with our surrounding landscape at the heart of the collection. Fresh green leading into calming tones of marigold. A unique reward of working solely with repurposed materials is the pleasure of growing colour palettes over time. Continuing our exploration on yellow harmonies punctuated by a vibrant introduction of green. This season’s green is the careful well loved gathering of shades over the course of seasons.

Founded in 2014 by Kiva Motnyk to create handmade objects that explore art and design in unison, creating work imbued with authenticity and longevity. Each piece has a story rooted in traditional textile techniques including weaving, quilting, and appliqué. Focused on recycled materials, seasonal natural dye and antique fabrics create a dialogue between historic and new.

Through gallery exhibitions, pop-up shops, and events around the world, the community is invited to take part in the process thru public workshops and immersive exhibition experiences. Today their team of artists and artisans join in collaboration to create each collection. Drawing upon the art of storytelling and personal narrative through material, working to preserve and bring recognition to traditional textile heritage.
