Seasonal Palettes
The palette of Dee Hardwicke's new collection features an array of hues, inspired by the landscape surrounding the designer and knitter's home in Wales. This collection of knitwear, cushion covers and a throw is for Rowan yarns, using eight shades of Felted Tweed yarn. Four of the yarns were created specially for this collection and includes colours such as Winter Blue and Dusk Rose - evoking the changing of the seasons from autumn to Winter.
Dee will be launching her new collection at Liberty, London 19 - 20 September where she will transform the Rowan section of the third floor haberdashery department into an offshoot of Dee's own studio, complete with watercolours, sketches and knitted swatches. She will also be holding a series of drop-in mini workshops over the two days, during which people can try their hands at making knitted button covers using yarns from the new palette. The button covers are a clever way of using up leftover yarn and they make eye-catching accessories.
Non-UK residents may be happy to know that Dee will also be giving workshops in international locations, including Seasonal Palette workshops at Wolle & Design, Stadtlohn Germany and L'Atelier, Redondo Beach California, USA. And of course, she will be giving a meet-and-greet at the Knitting & Stitching Show at Ally Pally in October. All dates and locations of Dee Hardwicke's workshops can be found here.
