Join us at this year's Selvedge Winter Fair to discover the inspiring work of The Indian Block Print Co. Founded by Maggie 20 years ago after leaving her corporate job, the family-run business is dedicated to making creativity accessible to everyone. Maggie, along with her daughters Tess and Annabel, and a loyal team, has worked to empower individuals to create art, even those who don’t consider themselves "arty."
Maggie’s journey into block printing began when she encountered Indian wood printing blocks at a craft show. Fascinated, she traveled to India in 2010 to meet master carvers and learn the craft. She saw the potential in smaller, hand-held blocks and started designing custom pieces.
Over the years, Maggie has built strong relationships with skilled carvers, often being invited to family weddings and supporting a new block carving workshop in rural India. The team grew with the addition of Annabel’s partner, Travis, and long-time member Anya. Today, The Indian Block Print Co. offers block printing and pottery painting workshops, helping people of all backgrounds express their creativity, boost confidence, and find joy in making beautiful art.
