Globe-Trotter Archives
Established in 1897, the Globe-Trotter brand was founded by David Nelken in Saxony Germany, it later moved in 1932 to the UK, where the business has since remained. The Globe trotter suitcases themselves have, however, spread far and wide. Captain Robert Falcon Scott took his on the infamous Antarctic expedition in 1912, Sir Winston Churchill used one whilst he was Chancellor of the Exchequer in 1924 and HM Queen Elizabeth II used a Globe-Trotter for her honeymoon luggage in 1947.
Given this remarkable list of carriers and evolving design, Globe-Trotter are inviting customers to visit their archives and find out more about the brand's history and the stories behind it.
The archive will be open to view until 3rd April 2015, Mon-Sat, 10-6
