HABERDASHERY BROOCH WORKSHOP WITH HEN'S TEETH ART
Using old, time worn textiles and haberdashery snippets, Viv will teach you how to make an embellished, hand stitched brooch. Emphasis will be placed on the layering of time worn-fabrics and lace for an interesting textural base. You will then explore hand embroidery and appliqué of vintage haberdashery pieces for more surface texture and colour. To make the piece more personal, bring along your own imagery, textiles, fabrics and haberdashery items.
Each student will need:
A glue stick A sewing kit, including needles, threads, embroidery, paper and sewing scissors Paper or textile imagery Small pieces of fabric, assorted linens, cottons and any of your favourite left-overs as well as worn, torn textiles and laces Vintage haberdashery i.e. hooks and eyes, tape measures and buttons, paper ephemera Old quilt or patchwork pieces.
